Rich Williams has been a writer, director and producer of short films, music videos, commercials, and feature films.


A native New Yorker, he began his studies at New York University (NYU) where he eventually went on to teach editing and non-linear post-production.


He learned the ropes at 40 year old Liberty Studios Inc. during which time he also produced and directed projects for pioneers in the hip hop music industry including Loud Records, Wu Tang Clan, KRS-ONE, and A Tribe Called Quest among others.

In 2001 he completed his first long form project ‘The Dregs of Society’. Thereafter he co-produced the independent feature film ‘Brooklyn Bound’ which screened at the 2004 Tribeca Film Festival and is distributed by Image Entertainment.

Rich also served as a Senior Vice President for the late George Jackson’s (Krush Groove, New Jack City, Motown Prexy) visionary but ultimately bankrupt dot.com, Urban Box Office, where he created and executive produced original content for the internet and traditional media sources.

In 2006 Rich completed his second feature. A digital production entitled ‘No Problema’, which he wrote, directed and produced. No Problema was an official selection at the African Diaspora, Black Harvest and Spaghetti Junction Film Festivals and was a special invite to screen at Philadephia’s Museum of African Art.

Currently Rich is developing feature project, The Limited Needs Of Lonely Men and is awaiting release of Wu: The Story of the Wu Tang Clan which should be released Fall 2008.
